Avionics/Electrical Engineer - Executive Search & Recruitment

Job Description:

  • Reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
  • Overseen by the Head of Airworthiness for Transport Canada (TC) delegate functions.

Core Competencies:

  • Advanced understanding of Aircraft Certification Requirements.
  • Experience with Aircraft Safety Analysis.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective use of aerospace/mechanical engineering principles.
  • Engineering decision-making and judgement.
  • Critical thinking and risk management.
  • Problem solving and mathematical reasoning.
  • Effective planning and project organizing.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Certification of avionics/electrical equipment and systems in various aircraft.
  • Review and approve design, operation, and engineering documents.
  • Conduct Engineering Conformity Inspections.
  • Witness ground and flight certification tests.
  • Maintain project certification paperwork according to company procedures.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, customers, and suppliers.
  • Support other departments and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a TC airworthiness delegation or be eligible for one.
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace or electrical engineering.
  • Advanced job-related degrees are an asset.
  • P. Eng or equivalent in a related engineering field preferred.
  • Knowledge of aircraft certification procedures and avionics/electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with aircraft regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
  • Willingness to travel for work.
  • Effective English communication skills.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year as a TC delegate person.
  • Minimum 7 years of aircraft certification experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of aviation engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated capability and competency in the field.
