About the Role

The Architectural Technologist will provide leadership and guidance to team members in overseeing all project aspects, including schematic design, design development, working drawings, construction administration, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will bring passion, leadership, and creativity to the role. Furthermore, they should possess design experience and a strong technical background, including proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software. Our current projects encompass local and international work in healthcare, innovative office design, and urban residential projects with a focus on sustainable design.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Review and update the project status with the Partner in Charge/Project Manager regularly
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure project success by achieving client satisfaction, maintaining work quality, ensuring profitability, and fostering team professionalism and collaboration
  • Identify specific design objectives, complex features, and possible solutions with the design team
  • Develop detailed design concepts in collaboration with the design team and translate them into design development documents
  • Prepare drawing packages for various permit submissions and/or construction
  • Coordinate with consultant teams
  • Communicate with clients and Approving Authorities
  • Conduct project code analysis
  • Lead meetings with clients and/or consultants as necessary
  • Review drawings for accuracy in Building Science, consultant coordination, and compliance with local Building Codes and City Bylaw requirements before submissions
  • Conduct product research on building components and systems
  • Attend site meetings, review shop drawings, and offer contract administration support as needed
Requirements
  • Architectural Technologist Diploma or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • 2-10+ years of relevant experience as an Architectural Technologist
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is a must
  • Knowledge of Revisto, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Navisworks would be beneficial but not mandatory
  • Strong conceptual and design skills
  • Curiosity and a readiness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
