CUSTOMS LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATOR.

Job Summary:


The Customs Logistics and Supply Chain Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Engineering and provide operational support to all departments responsible for purchasing as well as facilitating all transportation and customs tasks relating to ongoing projects as well as infrastructure improvements.


Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management working with Prodomax design and manufacturing groups to ensure Prodomax maintains a standardized method of vendor selection, purchase agreements and vendor performance management processes.
  • Identify on a projectbyproject basis high value/quantity purchase opportunities to facilitate savings/efficiencies in advance of issuing department generated purchase orders.
  • Maintain purchasing agreements on an annual basis with mainstream vendors.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks associated with specific vendors or products to minimize supply interruptions.
  • Facilitate the addition or removal of offsite warehousing as required for temporary storage purposes.
  • Ensure rental agreements are in place and maintained to allow rapid deployment of equipment, when necessary, along with associated performance monitoring systems in place.
  • Maintain best methods of transportation while identifying new suppliers for transportation services based on project requirements and schedules.
  • Determine best methods to ensure the shipment of Prodomax installation tools are on site and audited prior to installation teams' arrival.
  • Provide strategic solutions to project management with respect to cost effective methods to move end products on site.
  • Ensure workflows are in place and followed with respect to arranging transportation of material to and from Prodomax.
  • Coordinate overall importing /exporting processes within the company
  • Prepare/review all outgoing and incoming customs paperwork (commercial invoice, shipping documents, tariff shift and regional content analysis, where required)
  • Ensure smooth and timely export/import process flow
  • Advise customers on import and export restrictions and customs related matters
  • Ensure compliance to regulations and maintain strong audit trail
  • Support business partners with customs process and problem solving
  • Occasional travel within Canada and Internationally

Job Qualifications:

  • College or University degree
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) Designation, desired
  • 5+ years of experience, including successful contract negotiations
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Ability to manage vendor performance and challenge service providers when commitments are not met
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and remain highly organized, working under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of North American Customs Regulations and Tariffs
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt to new operating systems
  • Bilingual English/Spanish would be an asset (e.g., Shipments to Mexico)
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on results and performance
  • Proactive can identify issues before they occur and address them before problems arise
