Personal Support Worker, Reactivation Care Centre Unit

Your objective in this role is to support nursing staff in delivering personal care to residents and execute procedures and treatments according to special instructions received.

This role contributes to the Hospital's academic mission by enhancing care through education and continuous improvement or advancing care through research and innovation.

It also plays a role in ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols to create a safe environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families.

  • Execute direct and indirect patient care tasks to implement the Interprofessional Care Plan.

Under the guidance of a Registered Health Care Provider, tend to patients' personal care requirements, such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, monitoring nutrition and hydration intake, and administering preventative skin care.

  • Enhance patients' independence, dignity, social, emotional, and cultural well-being
  • Possess a Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from a College of Applied Arts and Technology
  • 1-2 years of experience in inpatient Geriatric/Rehab or Long-Term Care settings
  • Proficient in Infection Control Practices
  • Demonstrate the ability to build caring and trustworthy relationships with elderly patients and families
  • Exhibit excellent customer service, organizational, and problems solving skills
  • Proficiency in Point of Care (POC) desirable
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and communication) is a must
  • Knowledge of a second language is advantageous
  • Bilingualism in French/English is a plus

This is a Full-Time Regular role with 8 and 12-hour shifts, covering Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends in the Reactivation Care Centre Unit 4 & 5 at 555 Finch Ave W.
