The Opportunity

The Intermediate Web Applications Developer designs, implements, tests and supports secure, web-based computer applications that enhance the quality of service provided to staff, faculty and students by administrative and academic departments across Toronto Metropolitan University.

The successful candidate will be responsible to work cohesively with other web application developers in porting existing ColdFusion applications into Java Spring framework. Candidates with ColdFusion development experience, familiarity with Spring Boot 3, and who have extended background in various types of web services are preferred. Our ideal candidate is capable of working in a collaborative and timely manner, and in dealing effectively with stakeholders to ensure exceptional level of support on our applications.

Qualifications
To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

Completion of a four-year post-secondary degree program in Computer Science or related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Server-Side and Client-Side Web application development using web development language/platforms.Extensive knowledge of web development including: Server-Side Web application development using Java and Spring Application Framework.Client-Side Web application development using HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, UI toolkits. Relational database design and development experience using SQL.Proficiency in using Git to manage code repositories and familiarity of its use in a team setting. User level knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience with ColdFusion preferred. Experience with Jenkins and JIRA preferred.
