Job Title:
Shuttle Driver (Class 4 License required)

Hours:

We are looking for a casual Shuttle Driver to join our team In particular, we are looking for someone who can work Mondays 8am - 4:30pm for the summer and is available to replace sick calls and time-off requests.

Shifts are scheduled between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm (Monday - Friday) and 8:30 - 1:00pm (Sunday).

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transports residents to and from medical appointments, activities, shopping and errands using company owned vehicle.
  • Abides by all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Assists residents in and out of shuttle in a safe and prudent manner
  • Secures passengers? wheelchairs and seatbelts prior to trip.
  • Practices safe driving techniques at all times for all weather and road conditions.
  • Completes pretrip inspections and completes required documentation.
  • Cleans and services shuttle with fuel, lubricants etc. as needed.
  • Reports and coordinates shuttle maintenance repairs with the Wellness Coordinator.
  • Assists with minor community and resident maintenance requests.
  • Coordinates with Receptionist to optimize daily shuttle schedule to accommodate resident transportation needs.
  • Participates and documents facility?s ongoing preventative maintenance checks.
  • Always acts respectfully towards coworkers, supports teamwork practices, and maintains positive work relations and communication.
  • Provides transportation services supporting high quality customer service and resident satisfaction.
  • Adheres to all safety & health regulations and safe work practices.
  • Liaises and consults with residents, families, and the community to maintain a good public image for Rotary Villas.
  • Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Class 4 Drivers License:

Clear Driver's Abstract, renewed annually:

  • A current and clear Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check & Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification required, or must be willing to obtain upon hire
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid1
  • Excellent driving skills and habits, ability to read maps
  • Ability to assist residents on to shuttle, securing wheelchair and seatbelts
  • Effective English oral and written communication skills to respectfully and compassionately work with seniors and their families
  • Maintain a professional, but functional, appearance in dress and grooming, as well as high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • Good judgment and ability to exercise discretion
  • Ability to selfinitiate and work well as a team member with a positive attitude

  • Seek out and perform other duties as assigned
  • Preferred:_
  • Five (5) or more years of driving experience
  • Knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs
