Grademan/foreperson

We are now hiring and are looking to expand our team with experienced and hard-working individuals. We currently have an opening for a Grademan/Foreperson for the 2023 season. Start date is dependant on contract, weather and regional requirements.

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and direct people, equipment and resources
• Grading, excavation, road/parking lot grading, concrete grading, etc.

- efficiency to meet productions and timelines

• Submit daily reports with Productions, Notes, Timesheets, etc.
• Conduct hazard assessments, inspections, tailgate meetings and all other safety required documents
• Adhere to and promote company policies and safety practices
• Work and communicate with Superintendents and Project Managers/Coordinators on project related Safety, Issues, productions etc.
• Consult blueprints, designs, and client instructions to develop construction plans for your team.
• Manage construction sites, ensuring that workers adhere to construction plans and safety codes.
• Create and enforce employee schedules and construction timelines.

Qualifications:

• Be a member of Operators 793 or LUINA 893 or the willingness to join
• Knowledge of construction techniques and safety practices
• Proficient and competent in heavy construction equipment
• Knowledge of overall construction practices and procedures
• Effective leader, team player and communicator
• Knowledge of GPS systems.
• The ability to read and understand blueprints, city specifications and grade
• A minimum of 3 years' experience with supervising crews, managing job sites, and coordinating daily activities
• Knowledge of filling out daily logs, forms, and time sheets for the crew
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well alone & in a team environment
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and Supervisor MOL training is required.
