Nature of the Work

The main role in this job is to develop a program of activities for the day care service, supervise to support the overall development of students according to the school's educational project, and consider students' interests and needs alongside rules. Ensuring the general well-being, health, and safety of students is vital. Additionally, there are technical tasks related to day care service operations, such as managing finances, human resources, and materials.

Characteristic Functions

  • Collaborate with school administration to plan, develop, and assess the program of activities in alignment with the school's educational project, ensuring successful implementation. Organize special activities, including pedagogical days, and may fulfill day care service educator duties.
  • Develop operating rules and registration procedures for the day care service under administration guidance, including student attendance, welcoming, and accompanying protocols.
  • Conduct informational sessions for parents regarding day care service organization, rules, and operations. Keep parents and students informed of established regulations.
  • Manage student admissions and registrations, monitor attendance reports, input data, generate reports, statistics, and maintain behavior records.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and hygiene, safety, cleanliness standards, including the distribution of medication.
  • Facilitate communication between the day care service, school administration, parents, and external entities. Address complaints within scope or escalate to the relevant department.
  • Assist in budget estimation, revenue assessment, billing, collection, and financial reporting. Monitor budget, expenses, prepare statements, and reconcile accounts.
  • Coordinate with the school administration to determine staffing needs, create schedules, and manage vacation times.
  • Foster harmonious relationships among day care service staff, coordinate meetings, assign tasks, evaluate services, and keep attendance records.
  • Participate in day care service organization, maintain inventory, order/purchase supplies, and oversee material arrangements.
  • Utilize computers and relevant software, update registers, and potentially conduct online research.
  • Train and supervise less experienced staff, including educators and support personnel, ensuring program delivery and technical operations are executed correctly.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Schooling

  • Require a Diploma of College Studies in Early Childhood Education or equivalent recognized by the competent authority.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with knowledge of French considered a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Hold a valid certificate, issued within the last three (3) years, demonstrating completion of:

1. An eight-hour standard first aid course.

2. A six-hour refresher course updating first aid skills.
