ATB's ESG team leads the enterprise strategy in coordination and consultation with stakeholders both inside and outside of our business.

Areas of focus include sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance [ESG] strategy, climate change strategy and decarbonization, sustainable finance and reporting and disclosure.


As ATB's next
Climate and ESG Program Strategist, you will establish the program management aspect of ATB's ESG strategic initiatives, with a heavy emphasis on climate and the environment more broadly. The role will be responsible for standing up overall program management of ATB's ESG roadmap, ensuring progress is measured, monitored and adjusted based on the evolving environmental landscape. This role will enable the analysis and creation of ATB's environmental strategy and roadmap in consultation with stakeholders and in alignment with ATB's ESG principles and environment risk appetite. You will advise and assist with the quantification of climate-related impacts, objective setting and decarbonization opportunities, relevant framework implementation and disclosures, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting. You will lead the governance, consult on the delivery and execution of the strategy and lead and advise on the reporting and disclosure of relevant metrics, targets and progress related to decarbonization and sustainability reporting.

What you will do

  • Lead the environment strategy for ATB that aligns with the enterprise ambition and commitments, while supporting ATB's growth strategy and clientobsessed philosophy
  • Anticipate regulatory trends and industry developments to inform the execution of the environment strategy and ATB's alignment to environmental standards
  • Provide expert perspective on behalf of the ESG team on industry and regulatory guidelines and their prospective impact to ATB and its stakeholders as required
  • Understand how ATB's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions related to the execution of the environment strategy
  • Assist with the development of operational climate risk strategy and quantification of climaterelated impacts, targetsetting and decarbonization opportunities, relevant reporting framework implementation and disclosures, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting and assurance
  • Working with partners in credit portfolio and risk, support the business on financed emissions measurement, disclosures and reporting, target setting, progress updates and action plans for decarbonisation
  • Advise the business in the development and implementation of ATB's credit and investment policy and guidelines as it relates to data quality requirements as stipulated by regulators or by the data consumers
  • Provide stakeholders with environmentrelated analyses, decarbonization research, and informed advice to assist the business in identifying and assessing opportunities that help deliver on environmental commitments in a uniquely Alberta way
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enable a coordinated approach to report on and achieve ATB's environmental objectives
  • Support the CLSO in ensuring proactive stakeholder engagement on environmentalrelated matters
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address environmental issues that may arise from time to time
  • Support ATB's robust environmentalrelated disclosure and monitoring (i.e.
supporting teams and preparing for reasonable or limited assurance:
in the delivery of sustainability-related engagements, including advancing ATB's sustainability report assurance, greenhouse gas (GHG) assurance, GHG verifications and renewable fuels verification
