Your mission

As a forensic expert, you will be called upon to solve some of the most unique and puzzling cases in the field of building mechanics. No mystery is too small or too big for you to solve. You can solve them all You will have to:

  • Carry out observations, analyses, assemblies and laboratory tests. Document tangible evidence by taking photographs, videos, samples, readings and any other information that you deem useful in order to solve the puzzle ;
  • Interview witnesses and other parties involved in the investigation, all while showcasing your incredible social skills ;
  • Collect and analyze data as well as other evidence ;
  • Analyze damages caused by collapses of all types, flooding, winds, ground movements, blasting and vibrations, water infiltration, condensation, personal injuries, etc. ;
  • Determine the origin and cause of damages to building envelopes, roof membranes as well as the structures of residential, commercial and industrial buildings ;
  • Evaluate the safety of building structures and offer temporary shoring design services ;
  • Carry out analyzes and compliance reviews of the Quebec Construction Code and applicable standards ;
  • Write convincing and accessible reports to a reader who's not an expert in the field. These reports detail all the stages of the investigation which led you to a logical and unequivocal conclusion ;
  • Provide an accurate estimate of the work necessary in order to repair the damage under study, when required ;
  • Take full advantage of our procedures and guidelines in the context of ISO certified work ;
  • Collaborate with other investigators to solve multidisciplinary mysteries ;
  • Promote the company through your friendly and professional attitude during your interactions with customers and strengthen your relationships with them ;
  • Give your 200% and don't let anyone stand in your way and prevent you from earning monthly and annual bonuses, which will be granted to you when you exceed the objectives assigned to you.
  • Hold a university degree in civil engineering or construction engineering, or any other training deemed equivalent ;
  • Practical experience in one or more of the following areas of expertise: construction methods and procedures, structure, building envelope, civil works, infrastructure, building science engineering ;
  • Be a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ) ;
  • Great attention to efficiency and detail, excellent sense of organization and priorities ;
  • Being able to work and be involved in several projects at the same time ;
  • Curiosity, good judgment and initiative ;
  • Experience in the field of forensics or failure analysis (an asset) ;
  • Be able to express yourself fluently in French and English, both orally and in writing.
