About The Opportunity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare hot and cold food according to standardized recipes, menus, specifications and best practices.
  • Gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store quality ingredients in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Be aware of food quality, rotation, storage, utilization, stock levels, and product consistency.
  • Assist in controlling food costs by using up leftover food and following procedures for storage and rotation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Demonstrate the accurate use of all kitchen equipment, in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Ensures knowledge of the menu items and allergens.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and customer service to promote a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and consistency.
  • Report all equipment problems and food product discrepancies to a Supervisor.
  • Accepts training and guidance on a continuous basis. Passes along best practices and techniques to fellow team members.
  • Maintain complete personal hygiene at all times while on duty, such as washing hands at all necessary times, wearing a clean uniform, and restrained hair.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the Supervisors.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food Handler Certification is recommended, but not required.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Knife handling skills an asset.
  • Knowledge and skill level to work in a standard kitchen environment.
  • Able to follow recipes and specifications to ensure procedures and standards of food quality are met.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a teamfocused environment.
  • Flexible, positive, and energetic with the ability to work under pressure.

SALARY:
The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

$18.00-$21.00 per hour
