POSITION OVERVIEW


FBC is looking for a Bookkeeper to join our Loop Virtual Bookkeeping Team As a key member of the Business Service team, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for collaborating with Members and the team to deliver high quality bookkeeping services.

These services enable our Members to better manage their businesses and to comply with the requirement to maintain accurate records.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Complete full bookkeeping for assigned Members within the target turnaround times
  • Collaborate with Members to ensure that bookkeeping is complete, accurate and current
  • Recording/posting all business transactions in the general ledger
  • Reconciliation of credit card and bank statements
  • Prepare various accounting summaries and reports including, but not limited to, preparation of balance sheet and income statement
  • Respond to Member inquires and questions in a timely manner
  • Complete Member onboarding for new accounts, including set up
  • Preparation and filing of GST/HST returns

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a college diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Business
  • 5+ years of experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Both designations of QuickBooks certification is required
  • Retail bookkeeping experience would be desirable

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail to delivery high quality and accurate work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and friendly demeanor
  • Positive attitude and desire to help others through a team lead role
  • Experience in payroll and tax guidelines are beneficial
  • Proven time management skills, balancing competing priorities to deliver on time
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments within deadlines and manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Proficient in QuickBooks or similar programs
