General Labourer - 3 Months Contract - Field Position

General Summary

Seeking an entry level general labourer with basic assembly/merchandising/installation skills for a specified contract period of 3 Months.

Reporting to the District Manager, and under the guidance and direction from the Field Manager (or Lead Installation Supervisor), the Casual Labourer is responsible for the assembly, removal and installation of display fixtures, parts and/or merchandise at the customer's premises.

Through the use of Best Practice techniques, the Casual Labourer will merchandise products to corporate standards where necessary. The Casual Labourer will also assist to maintain storage (public storage) units with fixture parts.

This is a Temporary assignment with irregular scheduling based on business needs; expected to work up to

30 hours per week based on assigned workload; will be paid for all hours worked. Some days may finish early based on job requirements.

Must be able to arrive at specific work location

as early as 8:00 AM

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Meets with Carlton staff and store personnel the day of the revision or installation. Determine final requirements to execute and complete the setup. Follows corporate store policies and procedures as they affect the set up and merchandising of the card department and security.
  • Keeps perpetual inventory of the most used parts and accessories for setups. Arranges shipment of usable cabinets and accessories to the other accounts or to a local warehouse where required.
  • Disassembles old fixtures from retail outlets and works with store personnel who are responsible to arrange for disposal. Unloads and assembles new fixtures on customer's premises and merchandises displays to corporate standards.
  • Contacts Field Manager assigned to the customer and store personnel at the end of the installation to confirm completion of the display and/or identifies additional action if required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by District Manager / Field Manager and Lead Installation Supervisor.
  • Comply with all policy and legal requirements under the Health and Safety legislation, revised procedures, policies and standards as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Basic computer skills, strong English language skills both oral and written, as well as basic math skills required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, involving bending, loading and unloading
  • Flexible to travel within the Ontario region on a daily basis, with occasional overnights
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, including the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment; strong time management skills and flexibility to effectively prioritize and ensure completion of work to change priorities as the need arises.
  • Wear Canadian Safety Association (CSA) approved safety footwear, required

Additional Info:

Out of town travel will be covered by the Company - hotel and transportation. Paid time is for the regular workday. When a hotel stay is required, meals will be at the expense of the associate and

will be reimbursed based on a daily per diem:
