What does the Data Processing Team look like?


Our mission in Data Processing is to transform our client experience by dramatically reducing the cost and bottleneck of document processing, achieving a less than 1 business day turnaround time for all documents, by January, 2025.

As we work toward this mission, the Data Processing Team is evolving rapidly. We are actively pursuing technology and partnerships that will speed up statement processing, in order to reach our goal.

We are looking for a manager to lead the team through this transformation.

Someone who is lit up by our mission, excited to build out new sub-team's, systems and processes and work alongside our external partners.


What you'll get up to:

Responsible for Data Processing Team performance & growth (including hiring and promotions)

  • Sets clear performance expectations for the team and holds all team members accountable to these high expectations.
  • Ensures every member of the team is consistently getting clear positive and constructive feedback about their performance
  • Uses data to report on success and identify areas of improvement; defining and then advocating for the creation of new data sets when the current data doesn't support your understanding of what really matters.
  • Facilitating team meetings to keep your team lead group inspired and informed of progress towards targets
  • Builds the foundation of an excellent team through exceptional hiring and promotion decisions

Owning the experience of every single one of your teams' clients

  • Accountable for all outcomes of our Processing services, and can effectively direct the team to exceed the expectations of our service delivery
  • Ensures that the team, are upholding the high service standards we have for document processing, and can effectively take corrective action when Bench actions aren't conducive to our clients having an exceptional experience

Ongoing coaching and development of team members

  • Holding regularly scheduled 1:1s with Team Leads on your team, coaching and challenging in pursuit of great results.
  • Constantly creates opportunities for the team to develop themselves to reach higher levels of capability through mentorship, education, and coaching
  • Creating repeatable systems for developing entry level leaders within Data Processing
  • Responsible for the development of your Team Leads in pursuit of their professional goals and to fulfill our business needs.
  • Being laserfocused on the growth and development of your people, including regular connections (e.g. oneonones) to stay closely connected to their Bench experience.

Accountable for the 3/6/12 month strategy for the Data Processing Team

  • Ensure that a clear vision is in place for the Data Processing team and that the vision is communicated clearly with other departments (what is important to us, what we are going to do to get there).
  • Create and deliver on the Data Processing Team's quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Prioritize and lead key initiatives to systematically improve the delivery of Data Processing's service, which requires extensive collaboration with other departments at Bench, including but not limited to TPD, Keep Up, Catch Up, Retro, Trials and Biz Ops.

Project and process management

  • Takes full ownership over systems, processes, and workflows of the team, and acts as an agent of change when there are broad improvements that can better the experience of our clients and Benchmates
  • Leads and manages vendor partnerships and ensures strong vendor relationships are developed and maintained
  • Works closely with our vendors and crossfunctional teams to execute process improvements, monitor performance metrics, and provides strategic direction to support business goals
