Job Summary
The pharmacy assistant/technician assists the pharmacist in fulfilling prescriptions, welcoming patients and dispensing medication. He or she must provide unparalleled customer care.
Responsibilities and Duties

- Provide service to patients
- Welcome patients in a professional and considerate manner
- Comply with legal intervention limits regarding patients and confidentiality
- Respond to telephone cals and record information regarding prescription refills. Filter all other calls
- Collect all relevant patient information. Create and update patient records on the computer.
- Enter and renew prescriptions on the computer
- Record purchases on the eterminal and handle cash, credit card, and debit payments, where applicable
- Transfer claims to insurers and settle various problems regarding these claims
- Identify the merchandise needs and prepare orders for suppliers
- Verify the content of the merchandise on delivery. Verify this content against the invoice and purchase orders
- Place the products in the proper location and ensure the rotation of medication according to expiration dates and established protocols
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum qualification: High school diploma
- Preference will be given to registered Pharmacy Technicians
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant considered an asset
- Pharmacy technical assistance vocational diploma considered an asset
- Mathematical skills
- Able to work with an eterminal system
- Must be able to multitask and problem solve in a timely manner
- Must be a teamplayer but also able to work independently when required
- Previous experience with Specialty Compounding considered an asset
Job Type:
Full Time. Must be available on days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
