Manager of Hospital Operations - Veterinary Industry

Operations

  • Find ways to improve operational and financial performance, based on practice needs.
  • Proper staff scheduling and optimization.
  • Analyze and interpret operational reports and identify areas for improvement.
  • Champion and implement initiatives within the Hospital.

Strategic Planning and Leadership

  • Create action plans, set, and manage goals, delegate task, and track metrics.
  • Analyze and improve systems, policies, and processes.
  • Negotiate and mediate conflicts; coach and provide ongoing feedback to hospital team.
  • Develop business strategy and implement in the Hospital.

Team Development

  • Onboard new team members and ensure a successful introduction into the hospital.
  • Mentor, coach, and sets expectations with hospital team.
  • Ensure all are trained on operational systems and methods.

Financial Management

  • Analyze the financial health of the hospital and diagnose issues.
  • Assist with the preparation and communication of the annual budget.
  • Oversee the management of costs, particularly labor.
  • Manage revenue growth.

People Management

  • Conduct performance reviews & oversee career development.
  • Ensure hospital is in compliance with all Occupational Health & safety policies (i.e. OHS/WHMI)
  • Make recommendations for staff training and development.

Client Relations

  • Develop, champion, and drive client retention initiatives.
  • Advise and oversee tactics for increasing new client visits.
  • Assess the quality of client service and provide direction for enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required
  • Previous P&L management experience
  • Knowledge of veterinary practice management processes, efficiencies, standards, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with a large profitable veterinary practice
