An exciting opportunity awaits at our Markham office for a Construction Administrator. As the selected candidate, you will be responsible for contributing to the creation of construction documents and overseeing construction activities on land development projects with minimal supervision.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite reviews and coordinate sub-consultants for construction projects
  • Prepare and distribute construction administration documents
  • Review monthly progress draws and issue certificates of payment to clients
  • Review and respond to contractor documentation such as RFI's and Shop Drawings
  • Represent the prime consultant during the construction phase of projects to both the contractor and owner
  • Participate in the review of construction documents for project tendering
  • Estimate costs of land development construction works
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to achieve project objectives
  • Inspect construction sites and provide deficiency reports
  • Coordinate with municipalities and design teams to facilitate certification of constructed works and return of securities

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Extensive knowledge in the field of inspection and contract administration of municipal engineering works, with a preference for experience in Land Development projects
  • Skilled in project planning, risk management, cost management, schedule management, and preparation/administration of contract documents and specifications
  • Familiarity with sewer, watermain, and road construction materials, methods, and processes
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PDF markup. Familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous
  • Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Capable of prioritizing multiple tasks effectively

Education and Experience

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Contract Administration and Site Inspection for large civil projects. An RCSI or RCCA designation is beneficial.
