JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of General Tradesperson in Bath.

Reporting to the Service Trades Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for performing basic trades operations, janitorial and custodial work.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to OPG's public outreach, engagement, and education efforts as part of the company's commitment to growing its social license.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities are consistent with training and experience for performing basic trades operations.
In accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, performs routine service trades duties:

Carry out housekeeping and janitorial tasks. Perform snow removal and ground maintenance. Assist in performing routine tasks involving, erecting, dismantling, reassembling, moving, loading and unloading, and servicing, various fixtures, materials, structures, furniture, buildings, hardware, equipment, and vehicles. Responsibilities are consistent with training and experience for performing basic trades operations. In accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, performs routine general trades duties. Accountable for the health, safety and well being of self and others, in accordance with procedures and standards. Operate any vehicle or combination of vehicle and trailer up to the level trained. Operates portable, hand- and power-driven tools and equipment. Includes duplicators and micro printers. Perform work protection code (WPC) activities up to the level trained.

EDUCATION

Grade10, or equivalent.

QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of Janitorial or Custodial experience, ideally in an industrial environment Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (able to lift up to 50 lbs.) Must have a valid G license. Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work inside or outside (in all types of weather) Able to work alone or as a collaborative team player. Good judgment and problem-solving skills
