Musashi Auto Parts in Arthur, Ontario is hiring for a Machine Designer (Controls) Associate. The Machine Designer - Controls is responsible for the electrical, safety and motion controls of automation equipment. Automation ranges from assembly machines, CNC loading devices, press machines, transfer equipment, Robots, Vision systems, and in-feed/out-feed stations.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical engineering degree OR Electrical Electronics Technologist
  • Valid P. Eng license or EIT/OCETT
  • AutoCAD electrical experience
  • PLC Programming experience
  • Robots set up and programming
  • Experience with CSA/PSHR requirements for safeguarding of equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare specification documents for automation projects as related to Musashi parts and engineering specs.
  • Create AutoCAD/ SolidWorks drawings for electrical wiring, data and communications.
  • Create and prepare PLC programs, servos and Robots for motion control of the automation projects (Pick & Place or Robots).
  • Prepare Bill of Materials for automation projects.
  • Work with the Machine Builders to wire panels and test machinery.
  • Test and commission new automation in preparation for mass production.
  • Work with PSHR P.Eng / ESA Inspector to obtain complaint Designs / Drawings.
  • Attend annual health and safety training including (but not limited to) WHMIS, and Lockout Tagout.
