Responsibilities:
- Oversee and monitor progress on product enhancements and projects, and be accountable in regard to the scope, schedules, budgets and quality.
- Prepare user stories and manage backlogs, defining requirements, features and channels enhancements and creating value for business and employees.
- Lead the designer and development teams to guide the evolution of the product as per its longterm vision.
- Troubleshoot and fix compilation or script issues in various projects.
- Work closely with Air Canada Solution Architects and other IT professionals to design new solutions and services.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal users to develop, evaluate, install, and test software enhancements.
- Configure complex installations with the support of thirdparty vendors and quickly resolve all defects found within the installation.
- Set KPIs, track, measure, analyze and optimize product development pre and post implementation.
- Lead Revenue Management, Network Planning and Scheduling system enhancements and initiatives throughout the initiative lifecycle.
- Lead business case creation efforts.
- Lead planning and monitoring processes for the Revenue Management, Network Planning and Scheduling business units.
- Ensure alignment and compliance with internal IT standards related to operations, quality, and security.
- Responsible for providing mentorship across Revenue Management, Network Planning and Scheduling areas for common development of technical skills and capabilities.
- Responsible for handling high amount of technology complexity and drive autonomous decision making, as it relates to adoption of technology best practices.
Qualifications
- A relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the role.
- 912 years of technology operations and design experience in an enterprise IT organization, 35 years in senior roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing, assessing, and implementing software enhancement packages.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication and plannings skills.
- Selfmotivated, investigative nature and independent worker.
- Results oriented with proactive and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Able to multitask and work under pressure against tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Must be a team player with ability to work closely with diverse groups and working styles.
- Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, when required.
- Strong understanding of at least one type of Agile process.
- Experience with SDLC tools like JIRA, Confluence, HP ALM, and MSFT TFS.
- Experience with understanding analytics reports from tools like Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics or PowerBI.
- Deep understanding of digital design guidelines across multiple touch points.
- Ability to provide clear direction and effective communication both in technical and business terms.
Assets:
- Knowledge of core programming languages (JAVA, JavaScript, html, XML) would be an
- Prior experience with Quality Assurance a plus, but not required.
- Airline or Travel Industry experience a plus, but not required.
- UX and design experience a plus, but not required.
