part-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Alarm Operator/Monitoring Dispatcher, to join our amazing culture at our Ottawa location.

In this role, the Alarm Operator/ Monitoring Dispatcher will be responsible for providing professional quality customer service while verifying and/or notifying customers and potentially dispatching the authorities (Police, Fire, Ambulance, and/or Guard service) promptly upon the receipt of an alarm signal whether via traditional point to point, access control or CCTV.

Scope of work includes providing excellent customer and monitoring services to existing customers.

THE SHIFT FOR THIS ROLE IS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY FOR A TOTAL OF 16 HOURS PER WEEK

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • Responds to security alarm signals received via customer's alarm panels and follows the specific instructions as defined in the customer account or in accordance with the company's standard operating procedure.
  • Answers telephone calls from customers in a fastpaced environment providing information.
  • Inputs basic data entry changes as required
  • Informs shift Supervisor immediately of any problems.
  • Dispatches technicians for service requests as required.
  • Maintains a clean work area and reports any equipment problems immediately.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.

What You'll Need

  • Maintaining awareness of and seeking to meet of the needs and wants of the customer
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English. French is an asset.
  • Must be able to be security cleared to a minimum of Reliability status.
  • Must be able to work any assigned shifts as required by the specific position.
  • Must be comfortable working alone or with other people.
  • Good adaptability respond effectively to changes in situation or information
  • Comfortable and competent in a fast paced multitask environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of personal computers and conventional software programs.
  • Accurate typing skills.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the serious nature of security industry
  • Asset.
  • Must learn or have a basic understanding of alarm panels and components, CCTV and access control systems.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, be punctual and have an excellent attendance record.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum one year in an office or MSCC environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: security, electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation
