Position Overview:


The Welder is responsible for performing welding and metal fabrication tasks to join or repair metal components, structures, and equipment.

This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, operate welding equipment, and ensure the quality and integrity of welded materials.


Key Functions & Duties:

  • Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and shaping.
  • Set up welding equipment, including selecting appropriate tools, machines, and materials.
  • Safely operate and maintain welding machines and tools, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, considering factors such as thickness and type of metal.
  • Monitor the welding process to ensure proper fusion and weld quality, making necessary adjustments.
  • Inspect welded joints and structures for defects or imperfections, conducting necessary repairs or re-welding when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to plan and execute welding projects effectively.
  • Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations related to welding and metal fabrication.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes, efficiency, and quality.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding certification or relevant vocational training is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder in a similar role.
  • Proficient in various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of different metals and their welding requirements.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
