Shift Hours:7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday

Encourage Team Development
  • Including training, mentoring and assisting on best practices
  • Improve communication and integration to all related departments
  • Plan procurement to effectively avoid costly delays and lost sales opportunities
  • Ensure accuracy and timely processing of records

Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of accurate and informative metrics relating to overall Departmental Performance. Mentoring by example the company philosophy of continual improvement and progression.
  • Work closely with Suppliers to improve operations and reduce costs.
  • Develop and maintain Supplier performance metrics to monitor and improve overall relationship.
  • Supervise department's staff by providing support, leadership and performance feedback. Provide day to day support as well as clear long term goals.
  • Develop procedures and gain a strong understanding of the ERP system.
  • Follow up on vendor nonconformances and manage the Norquest Approved Vendor program.
  • Provide quoting and material specification review as required.
  • Oversee the outsourcing quoting and procurement process.
  • Create and manage the Purchase Order database and establish purchasing protocols and levels
  • Assist with the yearly inventory count alongside Materials Management and Finance.
  • Ensure the Tool Crib has controls in place and the most optimal solutions for tooling distribution.

HSE responsibilities:

  • Review Incident Investigation reports that occur in the department and assist in identifying items to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist HSE with creating and reviewing hazard assessments in the department.
  • Monitor and enforce all established company HSE policies, procedures and OH&S regulations.

Key Result Areas:

  • Streamline and manage day to day Procurement functions.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational initiatives to ensure continuous improvement relating to Cost Reduction.
  • Reduce the inventory levels and improve inventory turnover ratios.
  • Leadership in the department on HR Practices, Professional Development and overall individual performance in keeping with company practices.
  • Effective maintenance and monitoring of KPI's and Metrics while improving performance relative to these metrics.
  • Manage Supplier Relations and Improved Performance.
  • Providing vision and direction relating to Procurement within the company as a whole.
  • Development of relationships internally on staffing practices, integration with other departments and reporting to the senior management group is a critical measurable of success.
  • Impeccable personal integrity.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ethical practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management (SCMP/P.MM/CPM/APICS) or business administration.
  • 5+ years of Procurement management experience in an
    Oil and Gas manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of
    raw material sourcing experience.
  • Highly focused with a comprehensive knowledge of managing procurement, staff and Supplier relations in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Experience in developing and delivering procurement training programs to a diverse constituent group.
  • Experience in providing support to internal departments regarding vendor negotiations.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft suite.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working within an ERP/MRP environment.
  • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions.
  • Ability to work well in highpressure situations to meet deadlines.
