Your role


As Music Librarian, you will assist and advise music library users as regards musical content and acquiring musical materials (e.g., sheet music, CDs), with a view to meeting program production needs.

You will devise or amend rules, standards and methods affecting cataloguing and related systems, and ensure consistent adherence to them.

You will also conduct research as needed.

This position requires the following:

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in music or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience performing similar or related duties

Skills:

  • Knowledge of cataloguing standards; able to read sheet music
  • Knowledge of various music genres
  • Knowledge of the Disco 2 and VML databases an asset
  • Keen interest in research and client service
  • Keen interest in new technologies
  • Fluent in the working language (French)
