We are currently looking for two Safety Advisor for a 2 month term position located on-site in Fort McMurray .

Under the supervision of a Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor will provide support in the Safety, Health, and Environmental areas in an effort to prevent and mitigate employee injuries and illnesses.

The Safety Advisor will assist site and field management to promote effective safety programs and will ensure the company remains in compliance with governmental regulations, customer requirements, and related company policies and procedures.

This role is based locally in Fort McMurray on a nearby project site working 7 on 7 off schedule .

Preference will be given to local candidates
Perform field observations, audits and inspections to identify hazards and improvements at the workplace;
Coach and guide employees and management regarding safety compliance issues and safe product applications;
Investigate and document incidents involving company property, employees, or sub contractors;
Coordinate transportation of injured or ill employees to medical facilities. May work with medical providers and AlumaSafway's Risk Management Department to ensure the procedure requirements of the AlumaSafway's return to work program are followed;
Facilitate, document, and ensure all employees receive the company's and customer's required safety training;
Assist with safety meetings and conduct training programs for employees;
Administer the emergency response procedures for AlumaSafway employees at the site;
Participate in safety initiatives, meetings and programs as required by the customer.
Minimum of 2-4 years of safety experience with previous experience in the construction/ manufacturing industry;
Requires the ability to climb structural stairs and ladders and scaffold and enter confined spaces on job sites;
Working knowledge and understanding of current construction and general industry safety regulations and the ability to analyze and interpret this data for the safety of employees, job sites, and the branch;
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs;
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a site pre-access alcohol and drug test per site requirements.
