QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an understanding of the impact of colonization and the legacy of residential schools and 60's scoop, be
passionately committed to de-colonization actions, and have the knowledge to mitigate the stereotypes and myths
applied to Indigenous Peoples.

  • A Bachelor of Social Work degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a child welfare environment, Child and Family Services prevention experience an

- asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in establishing networks of support, navigating systemic resources (Education, Health,
  • EIA, Social) and community resources and services.
  • Demonstrated skills and working knowledge in areas of team work; strength based and primary focused case planning;
- risk assessment; and identifying and understanding the complexity of issues and barriers families face.
  • Knowledge and understanding Metis and multicultural traditions, practices and issues.
  • Fluency in French and/or an Indigenous language is an asset
  • The core competencies for this position include: communication, cultural competence, customer/client focus, decision
- making, collaboration, organizational ability, and stress tolerance.

A valid driver's license and a vehicle with $2,000,000 liability insurance is a requirement of this position.

A satisfactory criminal records check, prior contact check and a check of the Child Abuse Registry is a

requirement of all ANCR employment positions. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

DUTIES:

With a demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of Child and Family All Nations Coordinated Response
Network and under direction of the EIP Supervisor, the Early Intervention Worker provides services for Early Intervention
Program referred families including assessing risk, strengths and needs, referring, coordinating, case planning,
implementing supports and evaluating services to families. This position develops effective and culturally appropriate
network of supports and interventions that build family strengths.
