Elementary School Generalist Teacher
Ecole Providence located in McLennan, Alberta requires a Full Time 1.0 Elementary Generalist for the school year with the potential of a permanent position if the candidate is successful.
Based on the candidate's training and skill set the assignment will be Homeroom Grade 5/6 Split teaching all subject areas with small class size
- Assets would include any background, training, and/or experience in CTF programming and teaching, Physical education, Music, Second Language, options, and leadership activities would be considered.
The successful candidate ideally will have a knowledge and understanding of inclusive education, First Nation Metis and Inuit students, English as a second language, programming, and skills to support students who require individualized programs, enrichment, modifications, and/or accommodations to their learning.
The successful candidate requires proficiency in the use of educational technology, an understanding of assessment for learning, and being eligible to teach in the Province of Alberta. HFCRD division is actively recruiting teachers for upcoming positions and welcomes new graduates to apply. The division provides competitive compensation and benefits, as well as moving allowances. The candidate must be willing to be working in a small school rural Catholic community environment and is a team player willing to collaborate, communicate and work together. Non-catholics are welcome to apply, preference will be given to candidates of the Catholic faith.

The school building itself has been renovated and updated to facilitate the latest technology and to create a warm and inviting environment for McLennan's Kindergarten to Grade 8 students. McLennan is a community of roughly 1000 residents located on the shores of the world-renowned Kimiwan Lake. Kimiwan Lake is widely recognized as the Bird Capital of Canada and as an internationally acclaimed natural wetland conservation habitat. The lake offers residents and tourists alike a bird's eye view of many of the native species of waterfowl and shorebirds which utilize the lake each year. Newcomers to McLennan are exposed to a wealth of local services, ranging in nature from banking to groceries, gas, hotel, a school, and post-secondary campus, automotive, medical/health, and restaurant services just to name a few.
