Jeppesen Canada , part of the Boeing family, is on the lookout for a Mid-career Software Implementation Developer with a strong passion for aviation and travel. In this role, you will report to the manager of Crew & NO Implementation at the Montreal, Quebec office. The Crew & NO Implementation team is dedicated to configuring, delivering, and supporting our Crew and Ops management products for commercial airline clients, ensuring that our solutions align with our customers' actual needs. Position Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate directly with clients to grasp their needs and business objectives, translating them into requirements.
  • Execute client projects by customizing our leading crew planning software using our specialized rule-based Rave modeling language and Python.
  • Engage with the team to refine working methods for enhanced efficiency and client interaction.
  • Employ a test-driven development approach to ensure top-notch quality, creating automated test cases simultaneously with coding.
  • Clearly and confidently communicate design choices and technical solutions to clients, managing their expectations, and nurturing long-term partnerships.
This position offers a hybrid work model. The selected candidate will need to work partially onsite at one of the specified locations. This arrangement is subject to change at the discretion of the hiring team. Employer sponsorship for employment visas is not provided. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum of 5 years in software development and programming.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Python.
  • Demonstrated efficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada is a must.
  • Ability to handle export-controlled data for the US is required.
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
  • Prior experience in airline operations or airline IT, preferably in crew planning.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Proficiency in Git, GitLab/GitHub, or similar version control systems.
  • Familiarity with scrum team environments or similar agile project setups.

Typical Education and Experience: Typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and a minimum of 5 years' related work experience or an equivalent mix of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master's degree with 3 years of relevant work experience, 9 years of related work experience, etc.). Relocation: There is no relocation assistance available for this role. Candidates must either reside in the local area or relocate at their own cost. Additional Information: This job posting is for a locally based position in Canada under Boeing Canada.
