CONSTRUCTION OPERATORS AND LABOURERS

is a fast-growing, forward-thinking telecommunications company based in Virden, MB and we are rapidly expanding our footprint throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in joining our _
Construction and Maintenance Team _to help lay the foundation of our business through the land preparation, and installation of fibre internet infrastructure.

Construction Labourer_ positions from $24 to $26 per hour.
- _
Construction Operator_ positions require a class 1 or 3 licence starting at $30 to $35 per hour.

General Responsibilities:

• Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment
• Conduct daily equipment inspections reports on equipment before use and report any repair issues or equipment hazards immediately
• Secure special attachments to equipment
• Assist with general labor duties when needed to complete fibre optic construction projects
• Transport materials to and from the jobsite, including loading and unloading
• Using proper tiedown procedures, secure materials to be transported to ensure the safety and security of the load
• Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and in compliance with company PPE standards
• Complete all required accurate paperwork daily, including daily site meeting, driver logs, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience with heavy equipment for above

- and underground construction (Backhoes, excavators, cat dozer directional drills, hydrovac, semi/trailers, dump trailer) would be considered an asset, but willing to train suitable applicants

• Experience with utility locates and working around existing utilities is beneficial
• Excellent communication skill both verbal and written
• Must be currently authorized to work in Canada

Work Environment

• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds to properly locate utility infrastructure.
• Standing for extended periods of time (>60 minutes) and considerable walking; 12 miles at least 2 to 3 times a week.
• Working outdoors including exposure to temperature extremes and variety of terrains.
• Ability to work in and walk all types of terrain.

Job Details:

• Full time, Monday to Friday ~ Benefits package ~ Boot and coverall allowance
• Accommodations, including a liveout allowance, are provided to crews as necessary when working away from the Virden area.
• Our Construction crews generally meet in our Virden yard on Monday mornings, spend the week on the road in proximity to their assigned work sites, and return to Virden on Fridays.
