Responsibilities:


Arranges for delivery of a variety of maintenance parts and materials to maintain and replenish inventory levels and expedites shipment and delivery of goods from suppliers.

Coordinates the set-up, modification, or deletion of suppliers. Liaises with the Accounts Payable Department on invoice discrepancies. Resolves associated problems with invoices and arranges credits and returns. Corresponds with a variety of external contacts. Coordinates all invoicing and invoicing approvals through the department for payment through Accounts Payable. Generating and maintaining daily reports for Inventory Replenishment. Coordinates long term retention of records such as Purchase Orders and Customs Documents.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires Grade 12 graduation, including courses in standard Office Tools (i.e. spreadsheets, word processing) plus completion of Level II of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) certification program.

(Level II consists of four (4) Principles Courses, four (4) seminars credits, and one (1) core/ mandatory management courses. Each course consists of fifteen 3-hour sessions for a total of 180 classroom hours.)

Requires one and one-half (1-1⁄2) years previous purchasing related experience in a similar position.

An additional period of up to six (6) months on the job is required to gain knowledge of CMBC parts, materials requirements; stores, shop layouts, sources, suppliers and to become familiar with purchasing standards and procedures.

On the job experience is required to become proficient at expediting materials required to replenish and maintain adequate stock levels to meet emergency situations.

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week.

This is a full-time temporary position for approximately 12 months.

This position works predominately on-site

Rate of Pay:

Salary $5,460 - $6,557 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).

The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan upon eligibility.
