The Fleet Service Technician is a critical role to SCOOTY's electric scooter fleet success.

The Fleet Service Technician will report directly to the Fleet & Warehouse Manager and be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of electric scooters at the SCOOTY warehouse.

The Fleet Service Technician will work closely and coordinate with the Operations Associates team to ensure that any in-field service requests are appropriately addressed within a timely manner and upon any retrieval back to the SCOOTY warehouse, the scooters are in top working condition and available for daily riders to use.

This role will also be responsible for the daily maintenance and quality check of the SCOOTY fleet as well as ensuring SCOOTY's spare electric scooter batteries are charged and ready for on-demand deployment.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs for electric scooter fleet.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality inspections of SCOOTY fleet as outlined and instructed by SCOOTY's Fleet & Warehouse Manager.
  • Diagnose and repair any mechanical, electrical and softwarerelated issues.
  • Log and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs during work shifts.
  • Perform quality control checks on returned scooters to ensure they are safe and fully operational before fleet deployment.
  • Collaborate with Operations Associates to support any infield service requests and ondemand field repairs ensuring active fleet is available for riders at all times.
  • Conduct daily inventory checks and report to Fleet & Warehouse Manager for order replacement parts as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and procedures as instructed by Fleet & Warehouse Manager.
  • Support City Operations Manager and Fleet & Warehouse Manager by responding to any Rider/City/Citizen fleet service or parking infraction requests within a 2hr timeframe.
  • Support Operations Associate with necessary fleet rebalancing, recharging and retrieval as needed and requested from City Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, College Degree or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience and basic knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and software troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong problemsolving and criticalthinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Workplace health and safety training experience is required.
  • Daily onsite work in Brampton with flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Criminal background check and driver's record check is required.
  • Strong understanding of electric scooter operations & city escooter regulations is a plus.
  • Experience in electric vehicle maintenance and repair is a plus.
