DUTIES
Reporting to the Dean of Faculty of Arts, Business and Science (FABS), UCN requires an instructor to teach undergraduate students in
Aboriginal and Northern Studies (ANS) related programing for 1000 through 4000 level courses. Instructors are responsible for the
development and delivery of culturally relevant curriculum, assessment, and for the evaluation of student performance relating to their
teaching assignments. In addition to teaching duties, instructors also assist with assigned activities including UCN promotion, student
recruitment, and various program-related administrative functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Aboriginal/Northern Studies (ANS); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered
Creative and culturally relevant instructional practices with adults and Indigenous learners
Experience teaching university level introductory ANS to upper-level ANS courses
Experience with distance learning technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal, organizational, thinking and leadership skills
Effective time management skills
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures
Commitment to life-long learning

ASSETS
PhD in Aboriginal/Northern Studies or relevant combination of education and experience
Expertise in teaching and research in Cree history, culture, and governance
Ability to speak an Indigenous language
