***Labourers assist skilled trades people and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites.


Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety" and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.


PROJECT/POSITION DETAILS

  • No LOA, sub, or travel allowance
  • Dow Chemical

This job is not being run by our mechanical shop in Fort Saskatchewan - they will not be able to answer questions about the position

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Assist with installation, testing and rigging of pipe spools and materials
  • Clean construction work areas and fuel equipment as needed.
  • Work with equipment operators and civil crews to complete grade and excavation work
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and aid in other activities
  • Perform other activities as directed
  • Participate in prejob toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Return tools back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Must possess valid Ground Disturbance (101 or 201) and CSTS 09/2020 tickets
  • Must possess a valid, nongraduated driver's license

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass preemployment drug & alcohol testing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors
