As our fund grows, we are expanding our risk & analytics technology team to align with HOOPP's investment mandates. The Investment Solutions Group is looking for a skilled developer to support our operations.
What you will do:
Collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, and users to understand business problems and design effective solutions. Write high-quality, high-performance queries, views, and stored procedures. Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and support the community of developers. Work closely with multiple users to build tailor-fit solutions. Actively participate in Agile Scrum practices such as daily standups, backlog refinement, planning, and sprint retrospectives. Contribute during design and planning meetings, write wiki articles, and participate in issue and team retrospectives. Provide technical coaching and mentorship in collaboration with the team development lead. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages mutual respect. Ask probing questions, raise awareness, and guide individuals and groups in exploring options and making decisions. Design, build, and support new features while participating in issue resolution across the entire software stack. Prioritize technical improvements to ensure the development of sustainable software. Participate in the application support rotation schedule, maintaining availability during standard hours. Diagnose and resolve complex production issues spanning multiple systems and technologies.Who you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Experience in capital markets and financial industry, with exposure to vendor data onboarding and solutions. You have 7+ years of development experience, including: Ability to design and develop using cloud-based services (AWS preferred) Strong fundamentals in system integrations Batch processing, REST, SFTP) and workflow automation Experience with ETL/ELT tools, automation, schedulers, event-based design, cloud-native solutions, source code management, and CI/CD Scripting (PowerShell, Python and/or Bash) RDMS databases (SAP Hana, SQL Server, Snowflake) Ability to work effectively in an agile-based team environment and help with designs, builds, operations, and deployments of various software solutions Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to take end-to-end ownership, collaborate with business and application development teams Experience with data operations and incident management Peer code/solution review Continuously seeks to improve development processes, tools, and methodologies Understanding of security principles and practices Ability to make strategic technical decisions that align with business goals Understanding and adherence to IT governance standards and controls Participate in the application support and scheduled maintenanceNice to haves:
SAP HANA and SAP Data Services, Qlikview/Qliksense Snowflake, Python AWS services like S3, EC2, Secrets Manager, Lambda Experience with Automic Automation/UC4 or similar (Airflow, Control-M etc.) Preferred experience includes C# (.NET Core), Java/Kotlin (Spring Boot), Kubernetes, Docker containers.-
