_domilya GROUP has immediate openings for Skilled Construction Labourers _in the renovation business.

Under the supervision of the Director of Construction Operations, the Construction Labourer is an integral position at domilya GROUP, responsible for a wide variety of jobs including carpentry, tiling, demolition, dry walling, and finishing.

Work is often concentrated in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements but may include other areas, both residential and commercial.


You will be part of an ambitious and hard-working team for an established renovation and construction business based out of Halton and Peel.

The role is physical, and no two jobs are ever the same, which keeps things interesting.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparing sites to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures
  • Ensuring that all work is being done in compliance with the company's protocols and building code
  • Consistently follow safe work processes, procedures, and rules
  • Aligning structural components according to blueprints
  • Layout and framing of wall structures
  • Framing (rough and finish), carpentry finishing and painting
  • Installation of finish trim work such as baseboard, door casing and crown molding
  • Installation of windows and doors
  • Installation of cabinetry
  • Installation of appliances, light fixtures, hardware, vanities, and toilets
  • Performing tasks involving physical labour at home renovation and building sites
  • Loading and unloading equipment from trucks
  • Mixing ingredients for cleaning and covering surfaces
  • Operating power tools. Manage operation and maintenance of saws, drills, grinders
  • Performing physical lifting and removal of contents such as debris, wet drywall, wet carpet, etc.
  • Identifying and assessing construction deficiencies and performing repairs in a timely manner
  • Ensuring complete cleanup of home, inside and outside
  • Meeting regularly with direct supervisor at designated times to discuss completed work and work to be assigned to trades
  • Developing a constructive and helpful working relationship with homeowners
  • Conducting Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) with homeowners and direct supervisor
Qualifications / Education

  • You must have an AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate
  • Basic arithmetic skills, for example, in taking measurements, is essential
  • You must have 47 years of residential/commercial renovations experience (training will NOT be provided)
  • Experience in tile, framing, painting, flooring and have knowledge of various tools and equipment
  • You must have experience in residential framing
  • You must be experienced to carry out rough framing for new additions, including new subfloor, new walls, new roof trusses

Requirements:

  • Valid "G" driver's license and a vehicle
  • Clean driving abstract
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Clear criminal background check, including vulnerable sector screening
  • Own steeltoed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves a must
  • Speak fluent English
  • Be physically fit and able to work hard 44+ hours a week
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must have experience with doors, base/case, stairs, moldings and hardware (final adjustments)
  • Flexible, with the willingness and ability to travel daily to assigned sites and different work at locations
