We are looking for dynamic consultants to grow our Engineering team in Toronto . Your experience, knowledge, and commitment will help us to face our client's challenges.

You will be supporting different projects through your expertise as Embedded Software Engineer.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and debug embedded software solutions for microcontroller-based systems, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Develop software for real-time embedded systems with stringent timing requirements, including interrupt service routines (ISRs) and task scheduling
  • Write device drivers and low-level firmware to interface with hardware peripherals such as sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)
  • Integrate embedded software with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or μC/OS to manage task scheduling, resource allocation, and inter-process communication
  • Implement HAL libraries to abstract hardware dependencies and facilitate portability across different microcontroller platforms
  • Optimize code size and execution speed to meet performance targets and minimize resource utilization, leveraging compiler optimizations and software techniques

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in embedded software development, including C/C++ programming for microcontrollers and embedded systems
  • Proficiency in embedded software development tools such as IDEs (e.g., Keil, IAR Embedded Workbench), debuggers, and version control systems
  • Familiarity with microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M, AVR, PIC, etc.) and development platforms (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
  • Experience with communication protocols and standards commonly used in embedded systems (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development methodologies
