As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide compassionate and client-focused quality care to individuals in a beautiful homelike setting.

You are focused on the resident experience, not task completion. You assist wherever you are needed - at mealtimes, participating in therapies, or helping your colleagues.

What You Will Do:


The RAI Assessor is accountable for performing RAI related responsibilities in accordance with established policies and in compliance with the standards of the Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) and Alberta Health Services (AHS).

The RAI Assessor is accountable for providing care and support to residents, resident families and volunteers within their designated scope of practice.

The RAI Assessor demonstrates responsiveness to the holistic needs of residents and flexibility in adapting to changing needs of residents by assisting with activities of daily living, promoting choices, maintaining dignity and facilitating resident independence.

Individual responsibilities will fall under five main areas of focus:


  • Resident Centered Care
  • promotes service excellence through active participation with the Interdisciplinary Team to achieve and maintain quality resident centered care within the scope of a RAI Assessor.

Documentation - accurate, comprehensive and timely documentation of resident RAI-MDS assessments, in alignment with Bethany policies and procedures.

Safety - contributes to a safe environment for residents, the team and self by understanding and adhering to safety guidelines and practices at all times.

Active Learning - demonstrates the vision and values of Bethany and lives out the mission of Creating Caring Communities.

Team Work - cares for and works cooperatively with others as an effective team member.

What You Bring:

  • Excellent observation, communication and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated alignment with Bethany Riverview philosophy of care and organizational values
  • Strong computer and documentation skills are required
  • Completion of Licensed Practical Nurse program.
  • Completion of all RAI training modules
  • Score of 90% or higher on yearly RAI competency exam
  • At least 5 years' of recent work experience with seniors and/or dependent adults in long term care
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with CLPNA
