SEED PLANT OPERATOR - Full Time or Part Time Position

Work Description


The Seed Pant Operator reports directly to the Plant Manager to assist in conducting an efficient, productive, and safe seed and grain cleaning operation at the facility.

Direction, guidance, and training are provided by the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Keep accurate records of daily seed processes.
  • Clean, separate, treat, and load grain, seed, or other commodities handled by the establishment.
  • Operate and maintain equipment within the facility.
  • Provide high quality customer service to clients.
  • Assist Board of Directors and Plant Manager by providing statistical information when requested.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proficient in both verbal and written English language.
  • Good time management, problem solving, and communication skills a necessity.
  • Experience in machine operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of record keeping and electronic data tracking systems an asset.
  • Must have or be willing to attain operator, grader, and pesticide applicators licenses.

  • Motivated selfstarter with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Willing to work shifts and the ability to work in a variety of workplace settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical dexterity and mobility to operate equipment.
  • No acrophobia (fear of heights).
  • No reactions or allergies to dust, grain, or chemicals

Training:

  • First Aid Certificate
  • WHIMS
  • TDG
  • Or willingness to obtain these certificates.

Remuneration:

  • Commensurate with experience.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Salary:
From $23.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Barrhead, AB T7N 1A3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
