The Mechanical Manager is responsible for assisting in managing quality, cost, and delivery on projects.

They are responsible to help monitor the process and are responsible for supporting the Site Manager as the central hub.

In order to manage quality, cost and delivery, Mechanical Manager helps the Site Manager formally requisition packages of work (with a defined scope, budget and delivery) from the internal departments or 3rd party suppliers.

This position will also facilitate the project contract administration with direction from the Site Manager to ensure a positive flow on the project.

  • Develop project schedules with insight from design, trades, Project Manager, and customers. Monitor these schedules weekly with the project team and discuss any delays with the Project Manager to minimize negative effects on project completion dates.
  • Project charter documents are prepared at the beginning of a project in conjunction with the estimating department. These include the scope, budget and delivery criteria as well as the overall schedule.
  • Project requirements are properly communicated to and understood by the project team.
  • Purchasing and Manufacturing departments plan their activities on large projects to realize economies of scale, including consolidated purchasing and assembly line production where applicable.
  • All activities are coordinated through formal requisitions, each with a defined scope, budget and delivery.
  • Scope creep is effectively managed, with the assistance of the estimating department if necessary.
