Our Surety Markham Branch is looking for a Surety Administrator to support the team by providing a variety of administrative duties.

You will play an important role within our Branch operations, and have a direct impact on the Underwriting team achieving its profit, growth and loss ratio targets.

This role is focused on enhancing agent and client satisfaction whenever contact is made, our underwriting center is expected to deliver an outstanding client experience.

What You'll Do

  • You will be trained on the Surety system, bond intake process workflow, and understanding of Surety principles, products and terminology
  • Provide administrative services to Surety Department to ensure efficient and accurate reporting and recording of surety bonds through data entry and including coding new business, renewals, cancellations, endorsements, and reinstatements
  • Process, coordinate and/or validate data and documents to ensure quality.
  • Perform quality control to meet the accuracy and underwriting requirements on business processing
  • Provide administration and clerical support to Underwriting teams as required
  • Assist underwriting by providing functional support and service to external customers
  • Provide back up for other administrators with bond issuance/processing, including US and fronting bond issuance/processing and reinsurance bordereau
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional assignments as required
What You'll Bring

  • Completion of a related educational, diploma/degree/accreditation in Business Administration
  • Surety background would be an asset but is not required
  • Able to work within a fastpaced environment, and work well under pressure
  • Quick study/learning curve
  • Ability and willingness to work with repetitive tasks and keep focused, with a good level of accuracy
  • Excellent technical aptitude with computer systems; web based and inhouse systems and databases, good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy is a critical component for success in this role
  • Superior organization, timemanagement, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic priority changing environment
  • Effective in a culture of teamwork, collaboration and accountability; a person who encourages cooperation across the organization
