About the role

On-site | Full-time | Junior Level

We have an immediate opening for a Metallurgical Laboratory Analyst. Previous laboratory experience is not required. Full training is provided Using standard procedures, the laboratory analyst performs a variety of mineral separation tests on mining related samples.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting laboratory preparatory work including grinding samples in laboratory mills; Using flotation cells, bottle roll tests and specialized chemicals to selectively extract minerals from ore samples; Preparing chemical reagents; Operating and performing maintenance on equipment; Maintaining calibration and production logs; Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following all safety requirements of the laboratory; Using established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.

About you:

Recognized Degree or Diploma in Science; Analytical and mechanical skills; Detail oriented, organized and highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to quality; Ability to establish and maintain effective working conditions with co-workers and work constructively as part of a team or independently; Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues; Ability to work safely and follow safety regulations, policies and procedures; Ability to stand for a full shift; Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities; Able to lift filled 20 litre containers (25 kg); Skilled in effective English communication skills, both orally and written; Basic MS Office skills, specifically MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
