Overview

Title:
IT assistant

Status:
Temporary Full-Time

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday; 35 hours per week. Some flexibility in scheduling is required

Starting Rate of Pay:
Starting pay rate $21.87 per hour.


The IT assistant will provide support and assistance to the IT department in both it's daily tasks and several different ongoing and new projects.

The IT assistant will report directly to the IT Coordinator and will assist the various departments of Cheshire.

Role Requirements

  • Postsecondary certificate in a related program is required
  • Ability to provide highquality customer service in a fastpaced environment with multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem solving, timemanagement, prioritysetting and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; both written and oral
  • Demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in working with statistics and reports
  • Experience conducting audits or data quality management is an asset
  • Working knowledge and experience with office equipment like printers, fax machines, computers and phones
  • Knowledge or experience with GoldCare is an asset but not required
  • Valid Driver's License (G2), insurance and use of a vehicle
  • Must possess (or able to acquire) a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the employer

Role Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the implementation, documentation and maintenance of hardware such as phones
  • Performing maintenance and updates on mobile devices as needed.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues. (Firstlevel support for trouble shooting)
  • Assist in the setup of new employees on their mobile devices
  • Respond to a high volume of scheduled and unscheduled requests for assistance
  • Assist with various audits and data quality controls
  • Providing employees with training on the operation and maintenance of mobile devices
  • Assist in projects of various kinds including information security, data quality, etc.
  • Assist with the tracking of inventory, especially workphones and laptops
