THE OPPORTUNITY


Our client offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned and skilled Overhead Crane Services Manager to ensure the safety and maintenance of their clients' overhead crane systems and maintain reassurance and trust in their equipment.

Regularly scheduled crane inspections can save their clients a great expense by verifying compliance with local regulations and highlighting safety and production issues.

The Overhead Crane Services Manager conducts inspections that are designed to satisfy regulatory requirements and highlight preventive maintenance, repairs to address deficiencies, lifetime inspections, general overhauls, engineering evaluations and load tests.


As the Overhead Crane Service Manager, you will be dedicated to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of crane operations, all while being comfortable working independently but knowing when to seek support.

In this role, you will lead by example, injecting a spark of enthusiasm for safety and excellence, and driving continuous improvement in crane maintenance practices.

Armed with your expertise in crane systems you'll implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, optimize equipment performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Overhead Crane Service Manager you will work safely and collaboratively and are responsible for:

Leadership:

  • Lead and manage team service technicians.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
  • Complete documentation paperwork including timesheets, and safety reports.

Service Operations:

  • Plan and schedule overhead crane installations, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Ensure that service projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Troubleshoot to determine faults, including malfunctions, stress ranges, and structural issues.
  • Repair or replace necessary parts or components to ensure top quality restoration.
  • Test electric circuits, motors, components to CSA safety standards.
  • Execute necessary wiring of electrical circuits and devices.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working on overhead crane systems.
  • Conduct safety inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Provide recommendations and implement solutions to enhance the safety of crane operations and work environment.
  • Perform all required adjustments to comply with industry and safety standards.
  • Conduct load certification tests.
  • Conduct work in a manner prescribed by our client's Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Manual, and site EHS policies.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that all crane servicing and repairs meet industry standards and regulations.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes for service activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets industry standards and client specifications.
  • Perform regular electrical and mechanical inspections on most makes of cranes/hoists to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that all crane servicing and repairs meet industry standards and regulations.

Customer Relations:
