We are currently looking for a proactive and results-oriented Sr./Intermediate Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare personal and corporate tax returns.
- Strong understanding in Canadian taxation.
Job Description:
- Prepare corporate, personal and trust tax returns along with HST returns.
- Analyze financial information received from clients.
- Prepare financial statements and review working papers.
- Coordinate with clients to gather their information and be available to answer questions.
- Communicate with Canada Revenue Agency to resolve any client issues.
- Draft correspondence related to client engagements.
- Perform all job functions abiding by the office/work standards.
- Assist in other duties, as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years' work experience in public accounting firms
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a college accounting diploma.
- Experience with Profile and QuickBooks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Able to work overtime during busy tax seasons.
Soft Skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service, with the ability to understand the clients' business and needs.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision and within a team environment.
- Drive to grow skills through ongoing research and professional education.
- Ability to foster and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong accounting background including knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practices.
- Strong technical skills in Intuit Profile QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Excel and Word.
