Job Summary

The UBC 23 24 Indigenous Cultural Safety (ICS) learning experience is intended to prepare the next generation of health care professionals to provide quality culturally safe care to Indigenous peoples.

It is a foundational learning experience for students to learn about Indigenous cultural safety and cultural humility, to hear from Indigenous people through videos and in-person workshops, to learn about Indigenous history and the legacy of colonization in Canada, and to learn more about Indigenous people's health and relationship with Canada's healthcare system.

These curricula are implemented as required components of 13 UBC Health programs and will be expanding to include additional learner groups such as graduate and PhD level students, residents and clinical fellow, faculty and staff.

Providing support and mentorship to the next generation of students who will be working in the field of Indigenous Health is central to the goals of CEIH and vital to building and sustaining this important work for years to come.

Organizational Status
