  • The Mississauga Halton Central West (MHCW) Regional Cancer Program oversees the delivery and quality of cancer services for residents of both the Central West and Mississauga Halton regions. Regional Cancer Programs, created by Cancer Care Ontario, ensure cancer care is delivered according to provincewide quality and performance standards.
***- Working with Decision Support and Finance personnel, the Regional Analyst will evaluate key metrics. The Regional Analyst role enables coordination, communication and controls in both the management of the annual business planning processes and meeting deliverables and projects of various size and scope. In collaboration with the cross functional team, the role will be responsible for the analysis of clinical information shared by cross functional team members to support quality improvement initiatives. Aligned with Cancer Care Ontario's Cancer Plan 5, the Regional Cancer Program is dedicated to delivering the highest quality, compassionate, patient-centred cancer care and treatment that is designed to improve patient outcomes and reduce the burden of cancer. Areas of focus include supporting strategic initiatives to improve access, quality and sustainability along the cancer journey, and improve the quality and standardization of cancer care across the Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Regional Cancer Program's business processes including planning, coordination and communication
  • Support the strategic goals related to performance and status reporting to all levels of the RCP
  • Effectively interact with all levels of management and staff to carry out project related tasks of various size and scope
  • Provide support to a variety of crossfunctional projects in the RCP simultaneously
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders at various levels
  • Lead/participate in the development of innovative presentations, comprehensive reports, and proposals to all levels of the RCP
  • Support the review of new and existing guidelines and standards and work with cross functional Regional Cancer Program team members to create a plan for dissemination, integration and evaluation of implementation
  • Support clinical areas to identify gaps in process and work with external stakeholders to share best practice approaches and strategies
  • Review and evaluate data across the continuum and work with the Regional Cancer Program team to define priorities
  • Review data and ensure alignment with the Strategic plan
  • Assess existing, and support the development of new, performance measures based on data from internal and external sources.
  • Provide data analysis to inform process and quality improvement initiatives as it relates to wait times and capacity management
  • Work with the Regional Leads to identify opportunities for improvement and understand current state challenges
  • Guide decision making, provide advice and recommendations that will affect the operations and sustainability of the RCP and stakeholders
  • In collaboration with the Decision support partner, provide a quality lens to facilitate the integration of data, financial and clinical information to enable effective, efficient program planning and business management
  • Through data analysis and evaluation, inform the development of strategic action plans to ensure high quality analysis is available to inform decision making and quality improvement.
  • Work closely with decision support and finance analyst to inform volume reports reflecting current challenges and opportunities
  • Work with DS and finance to provide succinct and informative tools to senior leadership

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, health informatics or related discipline required
  • Master's degree in public, business administration, or healthcare administration or equivalent experience considered an asset
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in a healthcare environment working with complex and dynamic teams
  • Experience with project management as well as corporate level reporting
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi task and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and effectively communicate data
  • Superior analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Proactive with an ability to anticipate needs
  • Effective interpersonal, communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians
