Possibility of full time
Role:
Critical Performance areas:
- Performing yard checks and inventory updates
- Operating, loading and unloading ramps
- Opening and closing railway car doors
- Removing and Installing vehicle blocks
- Installation and removal of bridge plates between railway cars. Bridge plates are the link or connection between the railway car junctions used to bridge the gap
Working Conditions:
- Working shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Working on call
- Frequent lifting weights up to 50 pounds
- Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Physical work, being able to walk long distances, climb railcar ladders and crouching inside railcars
Employment Requirements:
- High School degree or equivalence
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver license, and be able to drive a manual transmission
- Minimum two years' driving experience
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Good handeye coordination
- Ability to correctly analyze a situation and respond appropriately
Training:
Automotive Assistants are given a 2 day classroom training with a health & safety team member covering the theory of CN's rules, polices, procedures, and safety measures at the Automotive Facility.
Salary:
Hourly rate up $27.19.
