Plumber/pipefitter

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installing, repairing, diagnosing and maintaining industrial plumbing systems
• Marking positions for pipe connections and fixtures in walls and floors
• Cutting openings in wall and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings
• Measuring, cutting, bending and installing pipes using hand and power tools
• Joining pipes using clamps, screws, bolts or cement
• Welding pipes
• Testing pipes for leaks
• Preparing cost estimates
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network, and waster and drainage systems.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

• 35 Years of experience as a Plumber or in a similar role
• Residential and Industrial Plumbers are encouraged to apply
• Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrates good organizational and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma (OSSD) or equivalency
• Successful or working towards completion of relevant apprenticeship program or education is required
• Trade certification is required
• Red Seal endorsement is required
• A valid driver's license

Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs (18kg)
• Ability to use the bend, crouch and climbing and reaching motions
• Prolonged periods of standing or kneeling
• Ability to work in all working conditions and weather conditions (in acceptance of safe work conditions)
• Ability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends (flexible hours)
• Ability to work rotational work 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off (12 hours/day) if required
• Ability to travel, when and if required

$35.00-$50.00 per hour
