The Housekeeping Supervisor position is responsible for the direction and leadership of an effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the housekeeping department including supervising a team and maintaining a 5-star cleaning service to our 88 beautiful guest rooms.
The Housekeeping Supervisor will be expected to work independently and within a team environment to provide clientele with an impeccable housekeeping experience.
Job DutiesSet expectations and hold team accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors in accordance with Relais and Chateaux expectations.
Produce various reports for run sheet organization in coordination with the department manager including noting special guest room requests, allergies and alterations required.
Issue supplies and equipment to housekeeping attendants.Inspect room and common areas for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
Update and record room status for arrivals and departures; advise manager and guest services.
May be required to assist with room attendant duties as required including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, making beds, linen removal from rooms, retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning and more
- all to Sonora Resort's standards.
Laundry services including sorting, folding and pressing a variety of linen.
Assist with special event requirements including special meeting room preparations.
Conduct monthly inventory in coordination with the department manager.
Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication is maintained with all colleagues and departments.
Drive small electric vehicles around the resort.
Follow effective employee relations practices including supporting all in-house training, maintaining professional supervision of all employees, evaluating performance on a timely basis, and following all progressive discipline and documentation guidelines as requested from department manager.
Assist department manager in delivering an effective onboarding and training program for new staff.Provide coverage for department manager on respective days off, as requested.
Exemplary customer service skills and a demonstrated willingness to exceed guest expectations.
Strong leadership skills to coach, influence and motivate team.
Ability to exercise professional judgment, delegate and follow-up with direct reports.

This is a seasonal position that works on site at the Resort in shift work rotations. Seeking a start date of mid-April.

Water taxi transportation is provided to and from Campbell River for scheduled work shifts
Staff are required to leave the resort on their scheduled non-working days and are responsible for securing further transportation and accommodation thereafter.

Profile description
Two (2) years of experience in housekeeping services.
One (1) year of supervisory experience, preferably in a housekeeping setting.
Thorough understanding of the operations of housekeeping; experience in a live-in resort environment is preferred.
High School Diploma required; any additional education or experience in Housekeeping, Hospitality, Tourism or related fields would be an asset.
Must be fluent in English, second language an asset.First Aid & AED certificates are an asset.
