At ProCogia we're passionate about developing data-driven solutions that provide highly informed answers to our clients' most critical challenges. Our projects are varied, from Data Warehouse builds, deploying Cloud Data Solutions, Dashboarding, & building predictive models.

- Develop novel bioinformatics tools (in R and/or Python) and integrate them into existing genomics analysis workflows
- Create and maintain R and Python packages
- Develop interactive tools to visualize multiomics data/results
- Run existing NGS pipelines to analyze and visualize data from a variety of experiments
- Engage with a team of bioinformaticians, data scientists, computational scientists
- Communicate project methodology and results with the team
Requirements Skills**
Required:
- Bioinformatics analytical skills and working with multi
- omics data (bulk RNA
- seq, scRNA
- seq, ATAC
- seq, CITE
- seq, ChIP
- seq, WGS, WES, CRISPR screens, etc.)
- Proficiency in R and/or Python
- Familiarity of biomedical datasets
- Good understanding of biological concepts, NGS modalities, and associated statistical methods and concepts
- Excellent communication skills in English including presentation skills
Preferred:
- Experience developing tools, packages, or pipelines in R/Python for bioinformatics workflows
- Familiarity with common file formats such as fastq, fasta, bam, sam, hdf5, zarr, tiledb
- Familiarity with command line tools and git (please provide GitHub link if available)
- Machine learning knowledge & experience an asset
- Good data science practices
Education
Required:
- Currently a registered student in a recognized Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related program, and returning to studies within the next 12 months.
